Employer deducted $460 for months worth of co-pay, and then terminated insurance anyway.

I have posted here before, but just to recap- on 5/20, I submitted my application for our new health insurance provider, and on 6/2 I gave my 30 day notice. My employer asked me to work two extra days to cover the schedule, so my last day was July 2. On Wednesday June 29the he told me my coverage was being terminated even though I was working until July 2.

I reached out to the insurance agent and told him that I was still employed until July 2 and that I wanted the coverage I had signed up for, with an option for baby cobra after leaving.

My boss said that in Texas, if you work into the next month, they have to provide you coverage- so he would have to take a whole months copay out of my last paycheck- and he did. $460 total.

I just got a letter saying that he had still terminated my insurance on July 1. The insurance company says that I need to book my cobra coverage through my former employer- but I don’t even know how safely communicate with this person at this point- Is this wage theft? Do I need a lawyer? Can I call the police?

I’m 7 months pregnant, and I have been denied Medicaid in Texas, and now it seems like I can’t even get cobra?

Help.
