The 2022 Jeep Wrangler High Tide is essentially the Xtreme Recon package plus a collection of choice Mopar upgrades applied to a Wrangler Sport model. It’s a simpler choice than ordering a la carte and one of the more affordable ways to buy a factory Wrangler with 35-inch tires.

The High Tide’s Xtreme Recon package brings a 1.5-inch suspension lift and 35-inch BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tires, along with 4.56:1 axle gearing to better work with the tall tires.
The first 500 High Tide models will be dubbed “Beach,” which gives you a very literal idea of Jeep’s imagined use case for this model.
The Sunrider Flip-Top replaces the forward section of the body-color hardtop with a fabric panel that’s easy to raise or lower from the front seats, but you still get the Freedom panels, so you can reconfigure your High Tide as a full hardtop whenever you desire.
The High Tide also gets the Gorilla Glass windshield, a $495 option on other Wranglers and Gladiators.
The High Tide’s compulsory 285-hp 3.6-liter eTorque V-6 and eight-speed automatic powertrain shoved it to 60 mph in 7.7 seconds, which felt plenty quick for a vehicle this tall.
The Wrangler’s 70-mph braking distance of 211 feet is the same distance we recorded from the almost-10,000-pound GMC Hummer EV.
Top speed in the High Tide is sensibly limited to 97 mph.
An upgraded Mopar tailgate hinge reroutes the load path for the spare tire, saving the tailgate itself the agony of supporting a 35-inch tire-and-wheel assembly.
The High Tide’s effective base price of $51,535 makes it almost the least expensive route to a Wrangler with the Xtreme Recon package. The cheapest route is Xtreme Recon Willys trim, which starts at $45,695.
The High Tide is available in five colors, including new High Velocity Yellow.
