Wife signed up for my healthcare and her parents at the same time, need advice

Wife is 24, I am 25

So about a week ago we got a huge bill from our new OBGYN after moving and my wife called insurance, I guess they weren’t in network according to them. We checked before we moved and it said the location 30 minutes (it’s a chain) was but did not list ours specifically, and called to ask about our location and the rep told my wife it was in network just not on the list she was sent.

So after finding out she wasn’t “in network” I switched her and added her to my own insurance, because I was still a new employee and I was filling out my healthcare selections and added her due to her not having in network OBGYN near us.

I guess today she called again and spoke with a manager at the insurance company for her parents, they said that whoever told them it was out of network was incorrect, the bill wasn’t billed right or something so they fixed it.

I got confirmation today that she was allowed on my healthcare plan, but that costs us an extra 150 a month. So right now she is on two health insurances and we don’t know which one to cancel. If I remove her, I cannot add her until another “major life event” (divorce, new child, etc.).

My main concern is BOTH policies are via blue cross blue shield (one is of Michigan, one is of Wisconsin) so could they tell if she is on two policies, and force her onto mine off of her parents?

Her parents have about equal healthcare coverage, so it comes down to paying an extra 150 a month.

Any help?
