How do dolls blink?
The magnets tend to retain the pendulum in a position wherein one of the poles of the pendulum magnet is under the opposite pole of the eyelid magnet, and the eyelids are then maintained open. However, any appreciable lateral forces of the doll will cause the pendulum to swing and result in blinking action.
