Do I automatically get Medicare when I turn 65?
Medicare will automatically start when you turn 65 if you’ve received Social Security Benefits or Railroad Retirement Benefits for at least 4 months prior to your 65th birthday. You’ll automatically be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B at 65 if you get benefit checks.
